Adding Customers, Companies, and Venues to an Order
In TapGoods PRO, an essential part of creating an order is adding Customers, Companies, and Venues. These are generally referred to as “Contacts” throughout the platform.
Each contact type helps ensure accurate communication, delivery, and billing. Adding the right contacts to your order early in the process helps streamline operations and ensures the order flows smoothly from start to finish.

What Contacts Are Required to Create an Order?
To create an order in TapGoods PRO, you must add either a Customer or a Company. These are required fields on the order form. If neither is added, the system will display an error message and prevent the order from being created.
While adding a Venue is optional, it's strongly recommended if the event will take place at a specific location. The Venue has its own dedicated field on the order form, just like the Customer and Company fields, and helps ensure accurate delivery and coordination.
Adding a Customer to an Order
To add a Customer:

Click Select Customer(s).

Choose a Customer from the list or click Add New Customer.
Key Notes:

You can add multiple Customers to an order, but only one will be the Primary Customer.

The Primary Customer:
-
Receives the quote/invoice
-
Serves as the main point of contact
-
Can be set to Autosend Emails (check the box under their name)

If you need to edit Customer info, hover over their name, and click the pencil icon during selection.

Tip: If a Customer is already linked to a Company in your TapGoods PRO account, the company field will auto-fill based on that association.
Adding a Company to an Order
To add a Company:

Click Select a Company.

Choose from the list or click Add New Company.

Companies can be set as the Primary contact for the order.

If Customers are associated with the Company:

You’ll be prompted to choose which Customers to add.

If there's only one Customer linked, they’ll auto-populate.

You can choose which Customers should receive email notifications.

If the Company has Commissioned Customers, you'll be asked to select one to associate with the order.
- If you need to edit Company info, hover over the name and click the pencil icon during selection.
Adding a Venue to an Order
To add a Venue:

Click Select a Venue.

Choose from the list or click Add New Venue.
If a Venue is already associated with a Customer or Company on the order, you’ll be prompted to select one of those associated Venues.
