Order Settings: Inventory Soft Holds
Sometimes, business owners will encounter Overbookings on Orders. An Overbooking in TapGoods PRO occurs when not enough Inventory is available to cover all rentals. When Soft Holds are not enabled, Overbook alerts will only show if the Order is Overbooked due to other Orders that are in the Reservation stage.
For business owners who want to know about the risk of Overbooked Orders before officially reserving Inventory, Inventory Soft Holds enables users to be alerted when Items in an Order will be Overbooked due to other Quotes with the same Inventory.
To enable Inventory Soft Holds, navigate to Order Settings, which is located under Admin on the system dashboard.

In Order Settings, Inventory Soft Holds is located near the bottom of the page, beneath Inv. Images (PDFs/Prints).
To edit the Inventory Soft Holds setting, click the dropdown arrow next to it.
Soft Holds appear as a gray triangle when the combination of all items in any rental quotes exceed the amount available in Inventory. Soft Hold alerts can be toggled ON/OFF at users’ discrepancy.
**Note: A Soft Hold is meant to alert users that if all quotes were converted to reservations, inventory would be overbooked.**
With Inventory Soft Holds ON, orders that are at risk of being Overbooked will have a gray alert next to the quantity of the item that is at risk. If Show Soft Holds is toggled OFF, this alert will no longer appear, and Overbooked alerts will display on Quotes and Reservations that conflict with other Reservations.
