Order Settings: Damage Waiver Fee
When renting out inventory to customers, some business owners charge a Damage Waiver Fee that will ensure financial protection from damaged Items that have been rented out to Customers. Once the Damage Waiver Fee is set up, it will be applied to all Orders unless manually changed in the Order Form.
To set up a Damage Waiver Fee that will automatically apply to all Orders, navigate to Order Settings under Admin on the system dashboard.
On the Order Settings page, the Damage Waiver Fee setting is underneath Auto Convert AR Orders.
To edit the Damage Waiver Fee, click the dropdown arrow next to it.
Damage Waiver Fees act as insurance for inventory rented that may become damaged in the rental process. Instead of charging for individual items that are damaged in a rental, TapGoods PRO users can set a…
- Fixed Fee: This fee will be an amount of money set by the TapGoods PRO user that stays consistent across ALL Orders created. It is important to note that a Fixed Fee will be the same for all orders, regardless of the order size or price.
- % of Items Total: This fee calculates the Damage Waiver Fee with a percentage inputted by the TapGoods PRO user (i.e., The Customer must pay 10% of the total cost of the Order).
- Tax Exemption: This toggle enables or disables tax exemption on Damage Waiver Fees. When this toggle is enabled, Damage Waiver fees will not have taxes calculated.
TapGoods PRO users can set both a Fixed Fee and % of Items Total. This will set a consistent rate across all orders. Damage Waiver Fees can be recalculated in the Options, Discounts, and Fees tab while editing individual Orders. To disable the Damage Waiver Fee on an individual Order, uncheck the box next to Calculate Damage Waiver Fee automatically and input 0.00 as the Fee Amount.
