Storefront Cart Settings for WordPress Plugin
Before you read this article, please ensure that the following steps have been completed:
- Your WordPress Plugin is installed.
- You have connected your WordPress Plugin to TapGoods PRO using your API Key.
- You have set up your Redirect Domains, which ensure seamless communication between TapGoods PRO, WordPress, and your Shop.
Once you have completed the above steps, you can configure your Cart Settings in TapGoods PRO.
The Cart is a TapGoods page that customers are redirected to upon navigating to their shopping cart. It is important to note that the Cart is not a WordPress page, but customers will access it from your WordPress site.
This article will discuss the following settings, which directly impact the styling of your customers’ Cart but will not impact the rest of your site:
Navigating to TapGoods PRO Settings for WordPress
In this section, we will review the settings available in TapGoods PRO that will impact your Cart.
To access these settings, Navigate to Admin > Storefront. This section of the menu lists all of the settings. Simply click on the one you want to access.
Note: Not every page listed under this section of Admin will impact the WordPress Plugin. This article will go over which settings DO impact and which do not.
Styling
As of now, this page only touches the Cart. Here, you can change:
- Desktop Logo
- Mobile Logo
- Tab Icon
- Website Colors (on the cart page)
- Text Colors (on the cart page)
- Button Style (on the cart page)
- Font Style (on the cart page)
Menu
On the Menu page, it is very important to ensure that the Main Logo is linked to your Shop page in WordPress. To do this:
- Copy the link to your WordPress Shop page.
- Paste it into the Main Logo Link section.
- Click Save.
Footer
This setting impacts how the footer is displayed on the cart page. In this setting you can:
- Enable/Disable Navigation in Footer: When the checkbox is enabled, your menu will be shown in the footer of the page. If disabled, the menu will not be visible.
- Enable/Disable Link to Order Agreement in footer: When the checkbox is enabled, a link to the Order Agreement will be visible in the footer. If disabled, this link will not be available.
- Enable/Disable About Us Text: When the toggle is enabled, the “About Us” text in this page's textbox will be visible in the footer. If disabled, the “About Us” text will not be visible.
- Enable/Disable Contact Info: You can add your business’s contact information to the footer when the toggle is enabled. If disabled, contact information will not be available.
Anytime you make changes to this page, click Update Storefront to have them reflected on your site.
My Orders (Customer Sign In)
The “My Orders (Customer Sign In)” setting specifically refers to the customer portal where customers can review their orders.
Here, you can enable customers to request changes to their orders within their portal, or take that capability away. This is done by enabling or disabling the checkbox in “Options”.
NOTE: This ability is also known as a “Change Request.” Change requests appear directly on orders, where you can approve or decline them. Learn more here!
Domain Settings
If you would like to Whitelabel your site, this is where these settings live. However, we do not recommend attempting this on your own.
Please contact your TapGoods Representative to request more information on Whitelabeling your site!
WordPress Settings
WordPress Settings lets you:
- Generate Your API Key: Since you've already generated your API key during the initial setup, this option is no longer available directly through the settings. If you lose your API key or need to regenerate it for security reasons, please contact support@tapgoods.com for assistance.
- Add Redirect Links for WordPress: This setting allows you to define specific URLs that are authorized to send or receive data to and from your WordPress site. It's important to handle this with care. We recommend discussing these settings with your WordPress developer, who can ensure that they are implemented correctly and safely.
At the very least, the link to your WordPress Site’s Shopping Page should be added here!
Shop + Cart
Here, you have several settings available to customize how your Cart works:
- Item Pricing: This setting lets you choose whether pricing is displayed to customers in their cart. If you decide to hide pricing, be sure to add this shortcode to the Shop page in WordPress as well!
- Hide Events Navigation: You can enable or disable “My Events” while logged into the cart. This allows your customers to navigate directly to their portal to review orders after submitting an order via the Cart page.
- Override Catalog URL: This is the URL customers will be redirected to if they try to access any resource related to inventory listings on your site. For WordPress Plugin users, you should paste the link to the page being used as your Shop here.
- Reservation Requirements: These are the requirements your business has for reserving an order.
- Overbooking: This setting allows you to enable or disable the ability for customers to book orders that might overbook inventory.
- Delivery Methods: This setting allows you to set which delivery methods you want to offer for orders submitted through your Shop.
There are a few settings on this page that do NOT impact your Cart page:
- Pages
- Get The Look
- Testimonials
- Social Media
Themes
On this page, you can select the theme that best matches your website. This setting only impacts the Cart page and will not impact the rest of your site's design.
