Warehouse Location vs. Multilocation
So, what is the difference between your Warehouse Location and Multilocation in TapGoods PRO?
- Warehouse Location: This represents the physical location where all your Inventory is stored and where your rentals are compiled and picked up from.
**NOTE: The “Warehouse Location” discussed in this article is NOT the same as the “Warehouse Location you can input while creating an Item in TapGoods PRO. This feature is specific to the address that your Inventory is housed in.**
- Multilocation: The Multilocation feature in TapGoods PRO is specifically designed for larger rental businesses that operate multiple Warehouses with separate Inventories.
Both Warehouse Location and Multilocation features in TapGoods PRO serve important purposes for different types of rental businesses. If you’re unsure which feature will be the best fit for your business, reach out to your TapGoods Representative for guidance!
When is Warehouse Location used?
If your business operates out of a central Warehouse, then setting your Warehouse Location ensures that all of your Quotes/Invoices reflect the correct address at which the Order will be coming out of. This feature is ideal for businesses that keep all of their Inventory in one place. This means that all Items, Purchases, Accessories, and Bundles are located at one address, and you do not split Inventory with any other Location.
When your business operates out of a single Warehouse, you do not need to utilize Multilocation because your Inventory is not split between Locations. If your Inventory always goes back to the same Warehouse, this is the feature that you will use.
When is Multilocation used?
Multilocation is a great fit for larger businesses that operate multiple Warehouses with independent Inventories. It is especially beneficial when each Location has its own Inventory or when there is a need to distribute Inventory across multiple Locations.
When utilizing the Multilocation feature, each location has separate and independent Items, Purchases, Accessories, and Bundles. These can be shared between Locations for Subrental purposes. This enables efficient movement of Inventory between your various Locations, providing a quick and convenient way to manage and track the whereabouts of your Inventory at all times.
With Multilocation, you have the flexibility to allocate and distribute Inventory according to demand and operational requirements.
