How To: Set Department Rate Calculations in TapGoods PRO
STOP!! Have you set up Advanced Pricing? Ensure that you are satisfied with your Advanced Pricing Settings before setting up Department Rate Calculations!
The Rate Calculator in TapGoods PRO allows users to set specific Price Rate calculations for Inventory that belongs to each Department in your account. These rates are referred to as Department Rates, and you can change each Department Rate at any time once you have created one in the Rate Calculator section of Inventory Settings.
To set up a Department Rate in TapGoods PRO, follow the steps listed below.
- Hover over Admin on the TapGoods PRO menu and click on Inventory Settings.
- In Inventory Settings, use the side menu to click on Rate Calculator.
- In Rate Calculator, click Add Department Rates.
- Select a Department.
- Select a Default Time Period.
- Input the numbers you want the default time period to multiply by to equate to other time-based rates [example: /Half-Day = 4x Hours].
**Note: When you are assigning rate multiplications to Department Rates, the Default Rate is used as the basis for multiplication. This means that if you use Hours as the default rate, the number you input for other time-based rates will multiply by one hour [Example: /Day = 4x Hours].**
- Click Save.
Once you have added a Department Rate to TapGoods PRO, it is important to remember that Department Rates must be turned on for individual Items before an Order can use the Department Rate to calculate the cost of an Item on an Order. To enable a Department Rate on an Item, you must be editing the Item and the Item must belong to the Department that the Department Rate is created.
