How does Maintenance Impact Available Inventory?
When Inventory returns from a rental, TapGoods PRO users can place Inventory in maintenance. Inventory that is in Maintenance is removed from available stock. As a result, Maintenance can lead to Overbooked Items when there is not enough available Inventory. It is important to note that when Inventory is moved to Maintenance, it is completely removed from circulation and cannot be rented out without the business owner’s knowledge.
When there is an Overbooked Item on an Order, there will be an orange icon next to the Item, and you can click on it to view what is causing the Overbooking.
In the pop-up, you can view Inventory, Inventory in Maintenance, and Maximum Need.
- Inventory is the total Item at the current location.
- Inventory that is in Maintenance has been moved out of available Inventory. Items in Maintenance may be damaged or need work before they can become available for rent.
- The Maximum Need is the quantity of the Item needed on the same day that this Order is taking place. If other Orders conflict with the dates that you need the Items on the Order, the quantity needed for other rentals will populate here.
If there are Items in Maintenance causing an Overbooking, TapGoods PRO users can solve the Overbook by doing one of the following…
- Creating a Subrental
- Adding Inventory
- Releasing Inventory from Maintenance
