Context
In times of troubleshooting, the Support team may recommend clearing the cache on all of the system(s) you use to engage with TapGoods. Performing this task is helpful for a multitude of reasons and is absolutely necessary in the context of recent system updates.
Defining Browser Cache
Florida State University defines Browser Cache as "...temporary Internet files that browsers download, containing website images, data, and documents for faster viewing in the future (FSU)."
Cache allows your computer to store a copy of a website on your devices for faster viewing in the future. This is essentially a local "copy" of the website that lives on your computer or mobile device, which can enable the page to load quicker because less is being requested from the server to load content. The downside of this functionality is that cache does not get updated when a website makes changes.
Reasons to Clear Your System Cache
#1. There was a recent TapGoods site update, adding or altering the appearance or functionality of one or more aspects of the site.
#2. You are experiencing instability or unpredictable behavior after an update.
#3. You're experiencing regular issues when engaging with the TapGoods site, whether there was a recent update or not.
#4. You want to optimize your system's performance and get rid of junk files taking up space on your computer or mobile device.
