How To: Create a Homepage for Storefront
If you are a subscriber to Storefront+ Complete or a higher package, you can create and add Pages to your Storefront to create a beautiful and Customer friendly website. Adding Pages to Storefront is done within your TapGoods PRO account, and you can navigate to the Pages page under Admin on the TapGoods PRO menu.
TapGoods PRO offers several Page Templates that you can utilize to create your business website. Among those templates is the Homepage, which is the first page that Customers land on when they navigate to your Storefront.
To create a Homepage in TapGoods PRO, follow the steps listed below.
- Click Add New Page.
- Select the Home Template.
- Click Add Page.
Once you have created a Homepage, there are several sections that you can customize to create a unique page.
Title Page
In the Title Page section, you can customize the Title of the Page. To add a Title to the Homepage, type the Title into the text box.
Main Area Settings
In this section, you can change how the Main Area Items you add to your Main Area appear on Storefront. On the Homepage, the Main Area functions as a slideshow that automatically cycles through each Main Area Item on a timer. If you want the slideshow to pause when your Customer rolls over it, check the box next to Pause main area when rolled over. Additionally, you can input a quantity to determine how many seconds each image will remain on the page before rolling to the next image.
Main Area Items
While other pages may display an image in the main area, the Homepage displays a rolling slideshow of images along with descriptions and links that will help your Customers navigate your site. In Main Area Items, you can add as many main area items as desired. To add a new Main Area Item, click Add Main Area Item.
Once you have added a Main Area Item, click the dropdown arrow to customize the contents. Here, you can add a Title and Description and change the color of the text that will appear to Dark or Light. Additionally, you can add a Photo or Video, and a Button for Customers to click on that will take them to a linked web page of your choice.
If you want to delete a Main Area Item at any time, simply click Delete Main Area.
Testimonials
If you have Testimonials created for your Storefront, enable the toggle next to Show testimonials on the Homepage to have Testimonials show.
Callouts
Callouts function as sectioned categories that create clickable sections on your Homepage that will take Customers to different parts of the Storefront. If you want to show Callouts on the Homepage, enable the toggle next to Show Callouts on Homepage.
To customize a callout, click the dropdown arrow next to it. On a Callout, you can add an Image, text to appear on the Button, and a link that the Button will take Customers to when they click on the Callout.
SEO Meta Data
The SEO Meta Data field is utilized to help Customers find your webpage on search engines. In this field, you can set up how the Page is described in search engine results and input keywords and phrases that will help Customers find your business.
