Cart Layout Differences in TapGoods Storefront
Each Storefront Cart Layout offers a unique design that contributes to the overall aesthetic and functionality of your Shop. The Cart Layout that you choose will determine your Customer’s experience on your site, so it is important to consider your brand and unique business model when you choose your Shop’s look.
In this article, we will examine the characteristics of each Cart Layout, shedding light on their differences and potential impacts. Additionally, an example of each layout is linked below for your review.
Best Practices for Designing your Storefront Shop
Before you choose your Cart Layout, it is important to decide how your products will be displayed in your Shop. In TapGoods PRO, you can upload up to four images of your product during Item Creation. The images you upload for your Inventory are directly connected to your Shop, so keep the following best practices in mind:
- Image Sizes: We recommend to use dimensions of at least 1200 pixels width x 900 pixels height for any images you upload for your Storefront. This ensures that the images are displayed clearly and consistently.
- High-Quality Photos: Using high-quality photos is essential to showcase your products in the best possible light. Ensure that your product images are clear, well-lit, and visually appealing.
- Clean or Background-Removed Images: If your product images have a background, it is recommended to have a clean background or remove the background altogether. A clean background helps draw attention to the product itself, eliminating distractions and providing a professional and cohesive look to your Storefront.
Cart Layouts & their Unique Qualities
TapGoods offers seven unique Cart Layouts that you can use for your Storefront. However, it is important to keep in mind that if you utilize Themes for your overall Storefront website, you must use the Cart that goes with your overall Theme. You cannot mix and match Themes and Cart Layouts.
- Harper: A clean and beginner friendly Cart Layout. Product images are smaller in size, and the Shop Filter is positioned on the left side of the screen. The Cart is a standard layout, ensuring ease of use.
- Emmit: Similar to Harper, this Cart Layout maintains the same layout and filter placement. It shares the clean and straightforward design approach, catering to beginners who seek an intuitive and user-friendly experience.
- Catalina: Places emphasis on the background, making it a focal point of the Cart Layout. Styling and visual appeal are significant considerations here. The Cart Summary is positioned on the left side of the Cart, condensing information and directing attention towards the forms Customers fill out during order creation along with the contents of the Cart. The colors in this layout remain vibrant and inviting.
- Wisteria: Offers a unique Shop layout with a hidden Filter located at the top left-hand side of the page. The product images are larger, allowing Customers to have a more detailed view. Thinner columns in the Shopping Cart layout provide a streamlined appearance, focusing on the products and their accompanying information.
- Magnolia: The Shop Filter is visible and positioned on the left side of the screen, similar to the Harper Cart Layout. The layout of the Shop is reminiscent of Harper as well. The Cart layout places less focus on color, resulting in a cleaner and more minimalist design. Ample space allows for easy reading and comprehension.
- Prescott: This Cart Layout shares similarities with the Catalina theme in terms of Shop Filter placement on the left-hand side of the page and Cart Summary Location. The Primary Color in the Prescott theme is reduced in opacity, reducing any jarring effects of bright colors while still maintaining the branding colors.
- Elaina: Features much larger product images compared to other layouts. The Shop Filter is hidden, offering a cleaner visual experience. This is the only theme where images take up the entire screen, ensuring easy readability and clarity. Wide and easily readable forms in the Shopping Cart enhance the user experience.
