How To: Update a Unit's Usage in TapGoods PRO
If you want to keep track of the Usage of a Serialized Item's Units, it is important to regularly update the Unit's usage.
**NOTE: You can only track Usage on Serialized Items. You cannot track Usage on a Serialized-Multiple Item because there are no individual Units to track.**
There are three ways to update Usage in TapGoods PRO:
1. Update the Usage from the Usages Tab of Item Details
To update a Unit's usage from the Usages tab of an Item, follow the steps listed below:
- Hover over Inventory on the TapGoods PRO menu, and click on Items.
- On the Items page, click on a Serialized Item.
- On the Item Details page, click on the Usages tab.
- Type or Paste the Serial Number into the search bar.
- Input new quantities for Usages you want to update.
- [Optional] Add a Note.
- Click Update Items.
When you update Usage this way, the change will be recorded in the Usage History on the right-hand side of the screen.
2. Update the Usage from Scheduled Maintenance (TapGoods Select & Premier Subscribers)
To update the Usage from Scheduled Maintenance, follow the steps listed below:
- From Item Details, click on the Scheduled Maintenance tab.
- In Scheduled Maintenance, click Log Usage.
- In the slide-out menu, type or paste the Serial Number into the search bar.
- Input new quantities for the Usages you want to update.
- Click Submit.
Once you update a Unit's Usage from this page, the new update will appear on the Usage History table of this page.
3. Updating Usage During the Check-In Process
During the Check-In process, follow the steps below to update your Serialized Units' Usage:
- Click on the Barcode icon next to the Item.
- Use the Usage field to input any changes to the Unit's Usage.
Once you finish updating the Usage, simply Check In your Items and you are good to go!
