Usage in TapGoods PRO

In Inventory Settings, you can add Usage to the platform, which you can use to track the life of your Inventory. Usage Measurement Units are a form of measurement that calculate how much your Customers are using your Product. These measurement units can be extremely useful when calculating how much of your product’s lifespan is left, or when an Item may need to be maintained. 

To add Usage units to TapGoods PRO, navigate to Inventory Settings, which are located under the Admin panel of the system dashboard.

In Inventory Settings, click on the Usage tab.

There are three types of Usages offered in TapGoods PRO:

  • Cumulative: Keeps track of current Usages. When you update Cumulative Usages, you will always input the total Usage. [Example: Mileage]
  • Additive: Adds to the total Usage. When you update Additive Usages, you will simply input a Quantity that will add to the overall Usage for the Unit. [Example: Reboots on a computer]
  • Gauge: Displays a Gauge for Usage. When you update Gauges, drag the Gauge to show how full the Unit is. [Example: Gas meters; Rechargeable batteries]

To add a new Usage Unit to TapGoods PRO, follow the steps listed below:

  1. Click on the Usages tab in Inventory Settings.

  1. Click Add New Usage Unit.

  1. Name the Usage Unit.
  2. Select a Usage Type.
  3. Click Submit.

To edit a Usage unit, click on the Pencil icon next to the unit. While editing a Usage Unit, you can delete a measurement unit by clicking Delete.

**Note: Usage Unit Type is not editable.**

 

Once you have added Usages to TapGoods PRO, you can add them to Serialized Items in Edit Item. 

Once you have added Usages to a Serialized Item, you can make changes to each Unit’s Usage in Scheduled Maintenance or during the Check-In Process.

It is important to note that Usage Measurement Units can ONLY be applied to Serialized Inventory. Standard and Serialized-Multiple Inventory cannot have Usage Measurement Units applied, because there are no individual Units to track.
