Sharing Inventory with Other Locations
If a user has multiple locations, inventory can be shared between them. Shared inventory is a system where inventory Items, Accessories, and Purchases are accessible across multiple locations. With TapGoods PRO, shared inventory can be used to subrent between locations, or to keep track of inventory that is used in more than one location.
Sharing inventory with other locations can be done from the Multilocation tab of Item, Purchase, and Accessory pages.
On the Multilocation tab of a piece of inventory, make sure that the “Item is being shared with other locations” toggle is ENABLED.
Once sharing is enabled for a piece of inventory, it can be shared in one of two ways:
- Create a New Item for other Locations: This option creates a new piece of inventory in other Locations.
- Connect the Item with an existing Item in other Locations: This option allows users to search for an existing item in other locations, and to connect the item to an existing one. In this case, the inventory may not have to have the same name, but TapGoods PRO will recognize that they are the same item and will reflect that in inventory tracking.
