What is a Child Company in TapGoods PRO?
A Child Company in TapGoods PRO directly works with AR toggled Companies and can utilize the Credit Terms from their Parent Company. Children Companies are created as normal Companies and then added to an AR Toggled Company as a Child Company. Although Child Companies are connected to a Parent Company, they still exist as their own Contact and you can create Orders specifically for the Child Company. When you connect a Child Company to a Parent Company, you can no longer toggle the Child Company for AR, since it can use the Parent Company’s Credit Terms to pay for Orders.
For example, if you create Company A [Child Company] in TapGoods PRO and then add it to Company B [Parent Company], which is an AR toggled Company that utilizes Credit Terms, Company A can use Company B’s Credit Terms to pay for Orders. In this case, the Invoice will be addressed to Company A but the Statement will be billed to Company B’s Company Contact.

How To: Add a Child Company to an AR Toggled Company
If you want to add a Child Company to an AR toggled company, it is important to remember that the Child Company must already exist in your account and that it cannot be toggled as an AR Company. Children Companies cannot possess their own Credit Terms in TapGoods PRO.
To add a Child Company to an existing AR toggled Company, follow the steps listed below.
- Hover over Contacts on the TapGoods PRO menu and click on Companies.
-
- Click on an AR Toggled Company.
- Click on the dropdown arrow next to Children Companies.
- Click Add Child Company.
- In the slide-out, click on an existing Company.
Once a Child Company is added to a Parent Company, Orders created by the Child Company can be paid for using the Parent Company’s Credit Terms.
